A day dedicated to Chora . In the morning:
The Botanical Garden of Andros
10:45 Meet at Chora Nimborio Seafront Parking for a short bus ride to the village of Apatouri.
A visit to the Botanical Garden managed by the LIFE Program with the botanist Trigas Panagiotis.
Chora Walk Part 1: The Library, Museums & School Children sketch
The Library of Andros
12.00 Return to Chora Meeting Point – the Vogiatzidis Building.
Visit the KAIRIOS Library for a short story of Andros and its existence through the Ages.
The Archaeological Museum of Andros & the School Children sketch on Pirates and Andros
12.20 Depart for a stroll through the town towards the Archaeological Museum.
12.25 At the museum, the Primary School will present a 5-minute performance, bringing to life Andros during the time of pirates!
13:00 Visit the Archaeological Museum. (Pay on Entrance)
In the afternoon :
A celebration with light snacks, music and dancing by the Chora Women’s Association and Local Business Association
Chora Walk Part 2 : Castle of Chora- A light bite & dancing
13:45 Depart from the museum for a guided walk through the old medieval town towards the Square of Afanis the Sailor at the end of the peninsula, with stops at points of interest.
14:20 Arrive at the Agios Georgios Church square for a free snack with folk dancing and music.
15:30-17:30 Free time for a swim or lunch
In the evening at 7:30pm:
Chora Walk Part 3: Arts – 2 small exhibitions of woodcarvings & paintings
17:30 Meet at Nimborio Sea front parking for a visit to the Skordos exhibition of woodcarvings at the Adamandia Gallery.
18:00 A short walk to enjoy a guided visit to the exhibition of paintings “Thorns & Immortals” by the creator-artist Yianna Andreadi.
18:40-19:30 Free time for an evening meal
A Film Showing of Mikra Anglia
19:30 Screening of the film “Mikra Anglia . At the Municipal theatre of Andros, close by the Agios Georgios church. A screening of Panteli Voulgaris’s film (In English – Little England) based on the novel about Andros by Ioanna Karystianni. A story depicting life in Maritime Andros at the beginning of the 20th century. The screening is free of charge and is done in collaboration with the Andros Film Club .
End of the day. Departure to other destinations
23:00 Depart by bus from the Vogiatzidis building to Batsi & Gavrio.
